Nanodyn Systems sponsored a new kit for Barca Juniors FC, a junior football club in Stellenbosch, where Nanodyn is based.
We started with a workshop. The players and coaches drew and painted their ambitions and hopes.
Those artworks became the jersey. Their drawings make up the pattern, set in pink and blue stripes, so the kit belongs to these players and coaches alone. It carries each player’s ideas on one team shirt.
The club also needed a crest. It draws on the greater Stellenbosch region, with grapes for the winelands and an oak leaf for the town of oaks. The stripes are a homage to the team’s favourite club, FC Barcelona.
Gencon manufactured the kit. Astrid Nel photographed the project.
The players received the kit in October 2022. For Nanodyn, it was a way to invest in the community around its Stellenbosch facility. For the players, it is a shirt made from their own drawings.
